Software company Bankdata has appointed 35-year old Benjamin Snitgaard Pelck as Vice President for Foreign Exchange & Derivatives (FXD). He will be responsible for the development and operation of systems that are central to banks’ handling of currency and financial risks. Benjamin Snitgaard Pelck joins from a position as Chief Risk Officer at Spar Nord and took up the role in November 2025.
“Benjamin brings strong professional expertise and a deep understanding of risk management and governance. He has proved himself over and over again in both banking and tech, which gives him a solid foundation for further developing such a critical area for our customers,” says Christian Wiese, Senior Vice President for Capital Markets, Finance & Risk at Bankdata.
Strong risk background and experience with transformations
Benjamin Snitgaard Pelck holds a master’s degree in economics (cand.scient.oecon.) and has leadership experience from both Sydbank and Spar Nord. As Chief Risk Officer at Spar Nord, he was responsible for the bank’s entire risk area, including the CISO function.
He will now be responsible for ensuring stable operations and further development of a systems landscape that has undergone major changes in recent years. FXD has been through a comprehensive transformation, including the development of a new capital markets platform and a subsequent outsourcing process that went live in January.
“This is a niche area that is critical to banks’ operations. Without well-functioning systems, they cannot manage their own risks or those of major corporate clients. The current focus is to ensure the new setup operates optimally. In the longer term, the goal is to further develop the area and strengthen collaboration with the business,” says Benjamin Snitgaard Pelck.
Bankdata is owned by eight Danish banks, including Sydbank, Jyske Bank and Ringkjøbing Landbobank. The company develops payment solutions, advisory systems and customer channels and has 1,000 employees across offices in Fredericia, Silkeborg and Aarhus.
