Bankdata has appointed 37-year-old Mette Marie Odderskov as the new Senior Vice President for HR & Communications. She will play a central role in strengthening Bankdata’s position as an attractive workplace and as the leading digital partner for the banking sector.
“I’m excited that we’ve been able to attract a profile like Mette to Bankdata. It strongly underlines how far we’ve come on our journey to becoming one of Denmark’s most sought-after tech workplaces. Now it will be part of Mette’s responsibility to further accelerate that development – I look forward to collaborating with her,” says Esben Kolind Laustrup, CEO of Bankdata.
Mette Marie Odderskov comes to Bankdata with a background in both JustEat and Actona Group. At JustEat, she gained extensive experience with all the challenges involved in scaling a company from a scale-up to a fully professional organization with a stock market listing in London and thousands of employees worldwide.
And at Actona Group, she was part of a comprehensive integration process of teams and employees, following the acquisition of other companies with widely different cultures and mindsets. According to herself, these experiences strengthened her focus on integrity, trust, and the ability to create results together.
“When you are in the middle of such demanding processes, you learn to constantly ask questions – to yourself, to the processes, and to the decisions being made. It is an approach that sharpens everyone, and something I have carried with me,” says Mette Marie Odderskov.
Ready for Bankdata’s next step
Over the past five years, Bankdata has become one of the most sought-after tech workplaces in Denmark. In her new role, Mette Marie Odderskov will be responsible for taking employee development and the company’s reputation to the next level.
“I have joined Bankdata at a truly exciting time. We are in the middle of rolling out a new strategy, which is ambitious – and which gives us a clear direction toward the goal of being the best digital partner for the banking sector in Denmark,” says Mette Marie Odderskov.
And here, the HR and communications area is an important tool to attract the best specialists in an industry where the competition for talent is tough.

The new Senior Vice President emphasizes that Bankdata’s strong reputation is a solid starting point, but that it also entails obligations.
“We have become known for bringing together some of the industry’s most skilled professionals, and that is a strength we must protect – but also develop. We must continuously raise the level of ambition, invest in our employees, and maintain our position as one of the most attractive places to work in the industry,” she says.
Bankdata is owned by eight Danish banks, including Sydbank, Jyske Bank, and Ringkjøbing Landbobank. The company builds payment solutions, advisor systems, and customer channels, and employs 1,000 people at offices in Fredericia, Silkeborg, and Aarhus.
