Bankdata’s member banks aim to do more together
As a member of the executive management, Peter Braad Olesen is appointed by Bankdata’s board of directors, which consists of the CEOs of the banks that own the company. Chairman of the Board and CEO of Ringkjøbing Landbobank, John Fisker, welcomes the appointment, noting that one of Braad Olesen’s key tasks will be to help realize the banks’ ambition of building more IT solutions together to achieve greater economies of scale.
“Bankdata has undergone an impressive transformation in recent years and is now stronger than ever. All the banks want to develop more IT solutions jointly through Bankdata, which is also reflected in our new strategy. We have a clear direction for the future, and the board has high ambitions for Bankdata. We are therefore pleased to strengthen the executive management with additional leadership capacity to maintain momentum and ensure execution,” says John Fisker.
At the intersection of banking and technology
Throughout his career, Peter Braad Olesen has operated at the intersection of finance and technology—both globally and in Denmark. Before joining McKinsey, he spent 13 years at Accenture, followed by a role as CTO at software company TIA Technology, which develops core systems for insurance companies worldwide.
“There is an incredible amount happening in the financial sector right now. IT is among the top priorities in boardrooms across the globe, driven by the crucial need for more, better, and more cost-efficient IT. Bankdata’s role is absolutely pivotal,” says Peter Braad Olesen.
“Over the years, I have met several representatives from Bankdata and formed a strong impression of the company. There is no doubt that Bankdata has undergone a positive transformation in recent years—a transformation that will continue. I share both the vision and the level of ambition, and it will only become even more exciting to be part of Bankdata going forward.”
Bankdata develops digital products for eight Danish banks, which jointly own the company. Nearly one in three Danish bank customers use Bankdata’s products, which include mobile and online banking, card payment solutions, and systems for capital markets trading. Founded in 1966, Bankdata today has more than 1,000 employees across offices in Fredericia, Silkeborg, and Aarhus.
